We have a few spaces available on our 2025 course.
Wanting to start beekeeping? Make sure you’re well-informed before you start, and avoid costly mistakes. Peeblesshire Beekeepers have run beginners’ courses for over 10 years.
We start with an all-day session on Saturday 3rd May, then there are loads of talks, teaching sessions, & practical apiary sessions through 2025 till the start of the 2026 season.
The cost is £45 and includes one year’s membership of the Association.
You will get practical tuition from experienced beekeepers, reading lists, local information, talks and instruction on-line and face to face, and encouragement to handle bees so that you are confident to look after your own colony.
We will lend you a beesuit; you will need enthusiasm, commitment, a love of learning something new – and wellies and Marigold-type gloves. And packed lunch on May 3rd.

As a member, you’ll have access to beekeeping advice on the phone or by email and will be able to borrow some items of beekeeping equipment.
